While I love all my soap scents, Orange Spice is my personal favorite. The cinnamon, clove and nutmeg essential oils lend a invigorating spiciness while the orange and may chang balance them out. Our basic soap recipe is all-natural and made with a carefully formulated mix of oils, colloidal oats, honey, herbal colorants and essential oils for scent. The honey from our bees create a gorgeous lather and the colloidal oats are soothing to the skin. Our soap is also palm oil free.

What does it mean for a soap to be “all-natural”? There is no governing body that defines the term but here at Blue Skye Wellness it means that the ingredients in our soap come from nature. There are no artificial fragrances, no dyes, no additives with long confusing names. You could eat the ingredients in our soap, although who would want to eat she butter? Even the lye we use is food grade (lye is used in some food processes such as making bagels). The lye is the one ingredient that would be considered not natural, but lye is was what soap and is necessary. Traditionally lye was made at home from wood ash, but the process is not as reliable and does not make a consistent soap because they lye strength can vary so much. Modern day lye is made in commercial facilities but it is still derived from wood, just under more controlled processes so that the finished product can easily and reliably be used for soap making.

To extend the life of your soap make sure that you use a soap dish, like our wood one, that allows your soap to dry between uses.
